Synopsis: [From New York state exhibition licensing records] The entire picture is the story of a villain, Ormsby, who connives with a judge and sheriff to kill the heir to an estate and seize his ranch. The many closeups of guns pointed from behind trees, of men with guns on each other, of blows and blood stained faces, add to the criminal effect of the picture. Twice Bruce, the heir, is kicked senseless by his assailants and bound, head down to a horse and driven off into the woods. Ormsby is in love with Bruce’s sweetheart. He attacks her, kidnaps and carries her kicking and struggling into a cabin where Bruce discovers him and a fierce fight ensues. Ormsby’s entire gang attacks Bruce who engages them all in a fierce and brutal fight. Ormsby is knocked senseless and dragged out. There are closeups of choking and nose pulling — but all the gang is overcome, carried out, tied face downward to horses and driven off out of the picture.
