Synopsis: [?] [From The Moving Picture World]? After a long spell of quiet, things at Alkali Flat liven up: Horse thieves drive a number of stock away and the menfolks organize a posse. Although he is unmarried, Ike, like the others finds the business of chasing horse-thieves rather restful. While the posse is camped in an old riverbed, beautiful gypsy girl Zingara and her father drive their wagon into the camp and are invited to put up there for the night. Zingara makes a hit with the cowboys, who forget all about the horse-thieves. They give her all the little trinkets they carry, yet none can call himself the fortunate man. Ike alone remains untouched — or so he thinks. Finally Zingara’s father rules that the man who gives him the most money will win Zingara. Ike is made custodian of the spoils, but then he does a grievous thing: he falls in love with Zingara, listens to her sweet voice, and leaves with her, her father, and the goods left in his trust. Early one morning, she and her father back up and leave Ike asleep in the desert with only his burro to carry him to the nearest waterhole.
