The Majestic Theatre was a first-run theatre in downtown Portland and was the city’s first exclusive motion picture theatre. The theatre was sold to J.J. Parker Theatres in 1929.
Portland’s street numbering changed in 1933. In later years, the venue was known as the United Artists Theatre. The venue was closed in 1955 and the building was demolished in 1957. The site is now occupied by the Union Bank Building, construction completed in 1969.
