This DVD-R edition reveals a natural-speed windowboxed video transfer from a very-good to excellent 16mm reduction print. There is the normal amount of speckling and dust in the print, but overall viewing is a pleasure.
The disc features adequate and appropriate musical accompaniment performed on a MIDI-based digital piano that compliments the spirit of the film. The accompaniment is thoughtfully compiled and seamlessly presented.
The disc also contains an introduction by Rich Olivieri (12 minutes), Claire Windsor’s home movies, which includes unidentified clips from Claire Windsor films (possible outtakes and camera tests) and home footage of Windsor, Dolores Del Rio, Marion Davies, Charles ‘Buddy’ Rogers, Rudolph Valentino, Eddie Sutherland, Adolph Menjou and Charles Chaplin (9 minutes), a Biograph comedy, a serial episode, and Lois Moran and theatrical glass slides stills galleries for a complete evening’s entertainment.
